Call for papers in a Special Issue of IEEE-RITA promoted by eMadrid

It is no exaggeration to speak of "revolution" in the field of e-Learning technologies in recent years. Of the early e-Learning systems, used primarily as repositories of content, with little chance of interaction-based educational paradigms and behavioral objectivists (teacher-centered), to current applications, there has been a giant leap.

Nevertheless, there remain barriers such as the complexity of the process of creation and production of certain educational materials, the difficulties of interoperability between different platforms, the difficulty of adoption of new paradigms and tools for teachers accustomed to more traditional forms of interaction, and so on., which are an obstacle to the adoption of these technologies. This special issue is promoted by the eMadrid Network and will go under the heading "Recent advances in e-Learning technologies. Challenges and Opportunities.". It aims to advance the state of the art in analyzing the weaknesses, threats, strengths and opportunities of new technologies applied to education.

We are particularly interested in applications, tools and platforms, preferably in the field of free software, and / or case studies of innovative curricula, teaching models and best practice guides that show how to overcome barriers posed and facilitate the incorporation of technology and e-learning to educational practice.

The deadline for articles is March 31, 2012. Click here for further information.
