(Madrid, December 14, 2020) Manuel Castro, member of the eMadrid Network, has received an award from the Madrid Convention Bureau for his collaboration with the entity and, especially, for his work during the pandemic. It has been during the Recognition Night 2020, an event that aims to thank all those professionals who promote the image of Madrid in the field of holding congresses.
MCB wanted to add two new categories of awards, taking into account the complex circumstances that have marked this year. One, which seeks to highlight 7 veteran collaborators and ambassadors for their support -among them, Manuel Castro-; and another, at the sectoral level, which has awarded the MICE and health sectors.
Manuel Castro has been an ambassador of the MCB since 2014 and an honorary ambassador since 2017. Two recognitions that he also shares with another member of the eMadrid Network, Edmundo Tovar.
In its thirteenth edition, the format of Recognition Night has been adapted to the new circumstances, in addition to complying with all the health and prevention protocols recommended by the authorities. The meeting has put on the table the role of Madrid as a destination capable of hosting safe events.
The Ambassador Program promoted by the Tourism Delegate Area through the Madrid Convention Bureau aims to help those responsible for organizing a congress in Madrid. This city promotion plan has been underway for 13 years and was a pioneer in our country.

{Madrid, October 26th, 2020} The eMadrid network coordinator, Carlos Delgado Kloos, full professor and vice-rector of Strategy and Digital Education at UC3M, has been awarded twice during the Learning with MOOCs 2020 conference, organized by the IEEE Education Society. Specifically, he has received an award recognizing him as a Meritorious Service Member for his "outstanding contributions" to LWMOOCS; and another that marks him as the Best Lightning Speaker, for his presentation "Adjusting the Parameters of Educational Models". The awards ceremony has been virtual this time since, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event - which was scheduled to be held in Antigua, Guatemala - has been online.
The Meritorious Service Member Award recognizes dedication, effort, and contributions to the conference and is presented by members of the IEEE Education Society Steering Committee. Best Lightning Speaker depends on the vote of the participants in the event, who evaluate the quality, originality and attractiveness of the different presentations.

The eMadrid Workshop is celebrating its 10th edition at a time marked by the coronavirus pandemic, which has made educational technology take on special importance. For this reason, this year, the title is "E-Learning in the new normal" and it will be marked by this issue, which worries and interests all of society. The event will take place on September 23 and 24 online, through the BlackBoard Collaborate platform. As always, the eMadrid NetworkWorkshop (a project that brings together researchers from UC3M, UAM, UCM, UPM, UNED and URJC) will be free and open to the general public upon registration (here).
Topics that we will talk about: during the crisis caused by COVID-19, E-learning is showing its importance and its relevance, even becoming essential. Now is the time to ask ourselves what your role will be in the so-called "new normal". The different presentations and round tables of the X eMadrid Workshop will revolve around this issue.
Who is interested in attending: all those who, whether or not they come from the educational sector, are convinced of the need to understand their profound digital transformation, especially in these times.
The whole world is going through a moment of uncertainty in which sanitary hygiene measures are marking our day to day. Social distance has become an obligation and, with it, have come news and changes that affect all facets of life. In recent months, E-learning has been a key part of maintaining education and teaching in the days of COVID-19. Now is the time to define what your role will be within the "new normal".
The program of these free workshops is completed with a special session, called «Lightning Talks», in which small companies that are promoting an entrepreneurial activity in the field of educational technologies will participate. In this space they will be able to expose the projects they are working on.
Lastly, the delivery of the eMadrid 2020 Awards, some awards with which this network adds support to the promotion of research and / or development of educational technologies, should also be highlighted within our program. This year, the winners are:
Laura Hidalgo Rueda, eMadrid Award 2020, Best TFG ("RODY: Aplicación educativa para niños de educación infantil").
Roberto DazaGarcía, eMadrid Award 2020, Best TFM ("Diseño de plataforma de monitorización de estudiantes en línea a través de la interacción hombre-máquina").
Laia Albó Pérez andKonstantinos Michos, eMadrid Awards 2020 ex aequo, Best Thesis ("Visual data-enriched design technology for blended learning" and "Supporting teachers as designers with community and learning analytics: a framework, technology and case studies").
