UC3M Institute of Culture and Technology (ICyT) at CaixaForum Madrid

The Institute of Culture and Technology (ICyT) is a research center of the Carlos III University of Madrid created established in 1993. It aims the transdisciplinar study of cultural changes produced by technology, especially information technology and communication. On 16 December 2010 the ICYT presented some of its ongoing projects in a cycle of conferences organized by the Center For Media Art And Education In New Technologies (Media Art) at CaixaForum Madrid. Previously there had been presentations of the Rey Juan Carlos University and Complutense University of Madrid projects.

 

 

ICYT members are IT engineers, telecom engineers, humanists (art, philosophy, history, literature, semiotics, aesthetics), lawyers or librarians. ICyT also maintains programs of theoretical and practical developments, always from the transdisciplinary approach. Both its director, Antonio Rodriguez de las Heras, as some of the speakers (Paloma Reina and Alvaro Diaz) are members of the eMadrid network.
