Educational digital game development for mobile devices: the project for Android |

Summary
In recent years a growing interest even on the application of digital games as educational material. On the other hand we have also assisted the growth of mobile technologies and their potential to develop new ways of learning. One of the research group's latest <e-UCM> Complutense University of Madrid focuses on how to take full advantage of both trends through a common, ubiquitous learning based on digital games.
As a result <m-Adventure> presents draft for Android, a new engine for games and interactive simulations that can display digital games developed with the tool <e-Adventure> in Android OS devices. This will provide an authoring tool that allows games developed to run on both desktop and mobile platforms. Also in the case of deployment on mobile devices <m-Adventure> lets you take advantage of features of current mobile devices such as geolocation or the ability to capture images.

Author Biography
Javier Torrente works since 2008 as an investigator hired by the University Complutense of Madrid, within the group of educational technologies and e-learning <e-UCM> directed by Dr. Baltasar Fernández Manjón. His research focuses mainly in the field of learning with digital games in general and in particular <e-Adventure> project. Among his current research include improving the accessibility of digital games and game design and adaptation to mobile device platforms.
