Summary

Moodle is the VLE (Virtual Learning Environment) most used in the world by all types of organizations. Moodle is Free Software and has been a pioneer in establishing a business model in which local partners give certified professional services and support a product product development organization. This talk will analyze the keys to its success and future potential, explaining the business model of the central organization and the partners. It will also destroy most common myths that hamper the progress of Moodle and Free Software in general.

Author's Biography

Eneko Arriaga

Degree in Business Administration and MBA by the Copenhagen Business School (Denmark), his experience has been developed within the financial and technological sector, specifically the last 10 years in the Knowledge Management and eLearning areas. During four years he was a Ithaca Multimedia partner; there he was Product Manager of EasyProf, an authoring tool for educational content for authors without programming skills that connected with LMS through the SCORM standard interconnection. Then in June 2002 launched CV & A Consulting, together with its partners Albert Calvet and Jordi Vila. He has been a trainer in several courses on Moodle, as a user and as a teacher or administrator, as well as a speaker at events like MoodleMoot, Online Education, Virtual Educa, Expoelearning.
