eMadrid in the IEEE EDUCON 2013

The fourth edition of the IEEE EDUCON, to be held in Berlin (Germany) from 13 to 15 March 2013, will host this year a new session promoted by the eMadrid Network. The six talks included in this session will be clustered under the title “The Power of Analytics to Engage and Guide: Experiences at the eMadrid Excellence Network”. These conference will be about several aspects of the enforcement of web analytics to online and open education. This session is held Thursday 4th in the morning and is also a contribution of the eMadrid Network to the Open Education Week 2013. Its complete content can be seen here.

Technical Session at UNED with the Participation of Larry Johnson

A Seminar with the participation of Larry Johnson, Head of the New Media Consortioum (USA) will take place next Thursday, September 20th at the Assembly Hall of the Psicology Faculty of UNED (Ciudad Universitaria, Madrid). The New Media Consortium is the responsible of the Horizon Report. This report is on the impact of new technologies on teaching, learning and research in the educational field and in the museum sector as well. The organization of this event is a collaboration of the IEEE Spanish Section, the eMadrid Network, the Spanish Chapter of the IEEE and of the Technology Management Council and the IEEE Student Branch at UNED.

Day on "Technology and education" with the participation of Rob Reilly

On the occasion of the visit of Rob Reilly, president of the IEEE Education Society (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), the Spanish Chapter of this association organized a seminar in collaboration with the eMadrid Network. This event took place on Tuesday November 22th at the Auditorium of the Rector’s building of the Polytechnic University of Madrid and could be seen in live by the Internet.

First European Immersive Education Summit

The First European Immersive Education Summit was hold in Madrid last November 28 and 29, 2011. This event took place at the Leganes Campus of the UC3M, near the city of Madrid. It was co-organized by the Carlos III University of Madrid and the eMadrid Project and it was the presentation of the The European chapter (iED Europe) of the Immersive Education Initiative. During these two days the audience were be able to hear about advances and trends in immersive education.

eMadrid at the IEEE EDUCON 2011

Last April 4, 2011 eMadrid project members presented the progress of their researchs at the second IEEE EDUCON conference, hosted by Princess Sumaya University for Technology in Amman, Jordan, from 4 to 6 of this month. ICOPER Workshop at 10th Madrid Science Week

X Semana de la Ciencia In the context of the 10th Madrid Science Week will be a workshop on the management of evaluation resources. It will teach attendees to use a resource management tool aimed at skills assessment in a European repository. The tool to use is the result of research carried out by ICOPER project, on skill-driven interoperable content. Attendees are encouraged to seek evaluation material (questions, tests, exams, etc..) To work with him in the workshop. This workshop is designed for teachers and course developers, but open to anyone interested.
