Sciences are part of the culture. ENCIENDE, the project about science-school relations of COSCE, aims to highlight the importance of science in the earliest stages of the educational system. It also performs analysis and actions in this direction to achieve a more advanced knowledge society.
The First ENCIENDE report on science at the early age in Spain will be presented in the first symposium of the ENCIENDE Project. ENCIENDE Platform will also be released as a space for viewing, exchanging and promoting activities in the direction of connecting science and school and improve science education for Spanish children through joint work between scientists, teachers, parents and other actors and institutions. The rules for next ENCIENDE awards and mentions to best initiatives in this field will also be presented. The First ENCIENDE symposium will have presentations of Sir H. Kroto, Nobel Laureate in Chemistry (1996), Dr. Doris Jorde, co-author of Rocard report and former president of ESERA, and Dr. Eleanor Hayes, director of the Science in School European initiative.
This first ENCIENDE Symposium of COSCE addresses scientists, social and educational sector agents who are concerned with scientific literacy for children in particular and Spanish society in general, who want to contribute with their thoughts and actions to increase the scientific culture of this country.
